Summer Festival 2018

Passion Fruit Saison? Oak barrel aged Stout? Bacon Pale Ale? White IPA? These are just some of the types of beers you can expect to taste from a homebrewer.

The annual SouthYeasters Summer Festival is the biggest homebrewers competition in South Africa, with over 50 brewers bringing over 100 beers to taste.

Food vendors are on site to satisfy your hunger, but remember not to fill yourself up too much, there’s plenty of beer to be had.

Tickets available at quicket.

SouthYeasters will run a people’s choice competition on the day. This will be the final competition in the Homebrewer’s League 2017/2018 season, and the winner will be announced on the day.

The beer festival can’t happen without you – our brewers! If you’d like to pledge beer (we ask for a minimum of 10L in exchange for 1x ticket, 20L for 2x tickets, and you’ll also receive a thank you gift and entrance to the brewer’s braai), fill in the form over here.

Wolfgang Cup:

In addition, the Wolfgang Cup will also be hosted – the style for entry will be an alternative sugar beer, entered under the BJCP stype 31B. The competition will be judged according to the 2015 BJCP Style Guidelines.

Judging Format:

The main round of judging will take place on the day before the festival (March 24), and the final round will be judged on the day
by rockstar BJCP judges. Any excess beer will be made available for the rest of the public to taste.
